SilverStripe is one of New Zealand’s biggest proponents of free software, as demonstrated by releasing a free website development product in 2007. There are now over 100,000 copies of the software deployed worldwide, and it is being used by the New Zealand Government and even the U.S. Democratic Party to run websites.
